This month’s Top 5 features recent campaigns centering on a range of topics such as diversity in travel marketing, educational advocacy and more. 5. BetterMe Behavioral health app and activewear brand BetterMe showcased voguing, a dance style popularized by Black and Latino LGBTQ+ communities, in a recent ad for its “Dance Into Confidence 2.0” global campaign. The nearly minute-long spot from production company Arc1801 aims to “empower individuals to fully express themselves,” according to a press release. 4. Apple Last month, Apple aired its first “Shot on iPhone” short film produced entirely in Mexico. The 13-minute film pays homage to lucha libre wrestling in Mexico City, featuring two famous lucha libre wrestling characters, Huracán Ramírez and Dr. Wagner. The Latin America office of TBWA\Media Arts Lab, the bespoke agency dedicated to Apple, handled the creative. Barcelona-based directors Los Pérez worked on the film. Quilmes Quilmes, the Argentine beer brand owned by AB InBev, celebrated the 2023 Women's World Cup by remaking its widely celebrated World Cup commercial from 2002. The spot features former player Elba Selva, who participated in the 1971 World Cup, as well as current players Gabriela Herrera, Milagros Menéndez, Miriam Mayorga and Vanina Correa. See more Women's World Cup ads here “Let’s keep shouting, let’s keep believing, let’s keep trusting that we will finally win. We have a dream and we defend it. Let’s show the world that together we can. So much glory, so much soccer, displayed around the world, and in every goal, passion and emotion. Other times, another story,” sings Argentine singer and songwriter Soledad Pastorutti in the commercial, accompanied by animations that seek to recall the time when women’s soccer was not televised. AB InBev’s in-house creative agency, DraftLine, handled the creative. 2. Delta Delta is aiming to increase diversity in travel marketing by adding over 100 images and 20 films to its “Faces of Travel” photo collection. The library, which first launched last year as part of Delta's Adobe Stock Collection, includes assets intended to be used by travel industry players for marketing on social media and other channels. Creative agency Kin and photographer Seo Ju Park partnered with the airline once again on the collection, capturing candid and personal moments in Cape Town, South Africa. “More accurate and inclusive representation within travel culture and beyond will be essential to avoiding bias as we build the platforms and systems of tomorrow,” said Sophie Ozoux, co-founder of Kin, in a statement. Kellogg Foundation “Abbott Elementary” star Tyler James Williams collaborated with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation last month on a storytelling video series celebrating early child care and education advocates across the country. The series highlights the challenges educators and caregivers their ongoing efforts to provide equitable learning and development opportunities for children across the country. Williams, who plays a lovable teacher in the ABC comedy about an underfunded school in Philadelphia, narrates the videos, available on YouTube and a special website made for the campaign, “Every Child Thrives.” “As an actor, we make an entertainment product that allows people to take time out of their day to laugh and find commonality,” said Williams in a statement. “But the inequity we find in schools, particularly schools of color, isn't a joke. It's not something that we can just be entertained by; it's something we actually need to address.” “Through this project with the Kellogg Foundation, we're lifting up the stories of change and resilience that happen every day in our schools and hopefully inspiring others to join us in speaking up to support the transformative educators and caregivers who make them possible,” said Williams.
