At the SoHo headquarters of Ready Set Rocket, the kitchen shelves are stocked with healthy snacks, there is a ping-pong and a foosball table, a stocked bar and a pet-friendly environment. But such perks are now the norm. Where Ready Set Rocket, founded in 2009, excels is in its commitment to mental health and self-care for all staffers.
The company, for instance, says it will discreetly revise an employee's work schedule and offer time off for de-stressing, and it recently helped launch Intrusive Thoughts, an OCD awareness nonprofit from agency co-founder Aaron Harvey, pro bono. As one employee says, "It's a fast-paced industry, but Ready Set Rocket has chosen to say 'OK, we know how stressful this work can be. So let us know when you need a breather and we'll help you out.'"
