An alien-themed spot is the winner of Doritos’ “Crash the Super Bowl” contest.
The 30-second ad, called “Abduction,” shows a UFO believer snoozing in his office when he is awakened by a tractor beam trying to take his bag of Doritos. But he doesn’t give them up without a fight. It will air in the first quarter.
The commercial was created by Dylan Bradshaw and Nate Norell. Both previously worked full-time for content creator Zach King, known for his viral illusion and special effects videos. Bradshaw is a Los Angeles-based director originally from Columbus, Ohio. Norell was born in the Dominican Republic and has a degree in cinema and media arts from Biola University. Bradshaw and Norell will receive $1 million and a trip to the Super Bowl game in New Orleans for winning the contest.

Doritos brought the Crash the Super Bowl contest back this year after running it from 2006 to 2016. “Abduction” was voted on by fans at Doritoscrash.com after being one of 25 semi-finalists chosen by the brand.
At least two other alien-themed spots are set to run in the game—one from direct-to-consumer cookware brand HexClad, and another from Totino’s.
