Doritos has enlisted actors Jenna Ortega and Danny Ramirez to help pitch its Dinamita variety to Hispanic buyers in a Super Bowl ad released today.

The 60-second spot from Goodby Silverstein & Partners shows Ortega shopping with her two grandmothers (Dina and Mita). One reaches for the last bag of Dinamita chips, only for them to be snagged by Ramirez. The grannies chase Ramirez on wheels and through apartments before catching him.

The spot, directed by Alaska, will air in the third quarter of the Feb. 11 game on CBS. 

Frito-Lay also released an extended version of the ad with a prolonged chase.

Frito-Lay plans to continue the Dinamita campaign post-Super Bowl on social media, TV and digital.

The snack debuted in 2012 in chile limon and nacho picoso flavors. At the time, executives suggested the variety was intended to capture the essence of Hispanic snack foods with shapes and flavors synonymous with Latin American cuisine.

Recently, the band added Dinamita Sticks and four new flavors— flamin’ hot queso, hot honey mustard, smoky chile queso and tangy fiery lime.

While this is Dinamita’s first Super Bowl ad, Doritos is a regular Big Game advertiser.  Last year, Doritos’ spot featured Jack Harlow, Missy Elliott, and Elton John. Its 2022 commercial used Charlie Puth and Meghan Thee Stallion to voice animals. The year before, Matthew McConaughey became Flat Matthew.
