Watch GoDaddy’s Super Bowl spot with Walton Goggins

GoDaddy’s Super Bowl spot is a tie-up with Walton Goggins to showcase the actor’s real eyewear business, which he is portrayed as having developed using GoDaddy’s AI-powered enterprise tool, Airo. The ad, dubbed “Act Like You Know,” begins with Goggins explaining that actors have no idea what they’re doing, before drawing a parallel to his experience as the owner of a goggles business. With the help of GoDaddy Airo, however, Goggins says that he was able to create a logo, website and social content and successfully lift his company off the ground. The spot ends with a humorous example of a seeming Airo-powered tagline: “Because if your goggles ain’t Goggins’, they don’t belong on your noggins.” GoDaddy’s 30-second spot will appear during the fourth quarter. Meta, Salesforce and Google are running spots that showcase AI technology; Google’s campaign of 50 regional ads is particularly similar to GoDaddy’s effort, as it focuses on how AI capabilities are helping small businesses. This is the first time in eight years that GoDaddy will run a Super Bowl spot, following a 13-year stretch in which it aired 12 Super Bowl commercials, between 2005 and 2017. Its prior ads were notably provocative and sometimes controversial, such as its spot in 2015 about a puppy that is sold online, which generated such a firestorm that GoDaddy pulled it before the game was even played.
