Watch Shaboozey in Nerds’ Super Bowl commercial

Nerds’ anthropomorphic gummy is back, this time as a trumpet player for Nerds Gummy Clusters’ Super Bowl commercial, as the brand looks to continue to bring in new consumers after a year of record sales. The spot stars Grammy-nominated singer Shaboozey and is set in New Orleans, the site of Sunday’s game. The candy brand’s spot, from Digitas Chicago, opens with Shaboozey walking down a street with a bag of, what else, Nerds Gummy Clusters. He encounters the Nerds gummy playing the trumpet as part of a New Orleans brass band. Shaboozey starts singing a rendition of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World,” as anthropomorphic Nerds gather on the street and cover the gummy. The 30-second spot will air during the third quarter. Digitas Chicago was also behind Nerds’ “Flashdance”-inspired debut spot last year. Nerds does not run TV campaigns, save for its Super Bowl spots, and instead focuses on in-store displays and paid social. Nerds Gummy Clusters have been carrying the Nerds portfolio. Total market sales of all Nerds products increased 48.3% to $869 million in 2024—with Gummy Clusters accounting for nearly 85%, Katie Duffy, VP of global brands at Ferrara, previously told Ad Age.
