This high-energy, ’90s throwback was certainly “the best” (get it?) choice to play in the background of a compilation of over-achievers succeeding in their fields despite the added challenge of having their hands stuck in Pringles cans. Snoop Dogg once famously said, “I want to thank me for being me.” Thus, it’s not at all surprising that the catchy bop playing behind Snoop Dogg’s cameo in Skechers’ brand spot is sung by none other than, well, Snoop Dogg. Though this may be the oldest song from the smorgasbord of music featured in Uber’s commercial, that doesn’t mean it’s the most forgettable. Join us in belting this ’90s classic for the several, fleeting moments it plays during the ride-hailing platform’s 30-second ad spot. Montell Jordan’s iconic “This Is How We Do It,” Def Jam’s first R&B release, is the perfect hip-hop interlude to the airing of the Big Game. You might recognize Sarah McLachlan’s melancholic ballad “Angel” as the background music to countless commercials for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The Canadian singer-songwriter pokes fun at her old gig by singing to wild animals in the new Busch Light commercial, adding another element of humor to this already hysterical ad. Beware—this early 2000s banger, remixed for this year’s Uber commercial, will have both sports and Kelis fans singing along before the end of the first quarter. Missy Elliott’s peppy “We Run This,” which once peaked at No. 48 on the Billboard Hot 100, is still just as energizing in the Google commercial as it was upon its release nearly two decades ago. We recommend adding this one to a workout or a “get-pumped” playlist. Can you believe this song has already been around for a decade? Well, Uber is bringing it back for Super Bowl LVII. Catch a parody of this parody in its latest ad that’ll be stuck in your head for as long as the original was. Bud Light’s commercial features Hollywood couple Miles and Keleigh Teller singing and dancing to hold music. If this atmospheric, synth-pop piece started playing while you were waiting to speak with customer service, we bet you’d start dancing, too. This sappy love song will surely transport anyone listening back to their days of standing in a high school sweetheart’s backyard with a jukebox balanced over the head. Although this tune might not make for the best Uber jingle, it’s definitely a joy to hear. This instrumental, jazz-funk outro lends a whimsical feel to Pepsi’s spots for Pepsi Zero, in which Ben Stiller and Steve Martin challenge the audience to decide whether the drink is actually worth the hype.
