The Coopers picked right off from last year’s ad, showcasing their endearing chemistry and banter that only a son and mom could share. At one point Bradley Cooper even shows off some less-than-stellar juggling skills. Other scenes from the ad include Common doing an impression of Denzel Washington in the movie “Training Day,” Hudson whistling, Dern pretending to cry on command and playing the guitar poorly, and Adams and Macht in a garage dancing and reading from a script.
The auditions were unnecessary, though, as Magenta Status is available to anyone with a T-Mobile plan. The spot ends with Faison and Braff, in their latest in a series of T-Mobile ads, with Faison jokingly saying, “I thought we already had the job.”

Many of the scenes were improvised and filmed in the celebrities’ actual homes, said Peter DeLuca, T-Mobile’s chief creative officer.
“That’s why you see so much of the stuff being very authentic,” DeLuca said. “You get what I would say are unique moments that you would never get if you were giving a big script to this … like Bradley and his mom sitting on the stairs, going over the script, that was a real moment.”
