In a year when economic headwinds cast something of a pall over the marketing industry at large, there was still plenty of great creativity to celebrate.

This year’s best ads came in all shapes and sizes, from TikTok videos to global rebrands, Super Bowl spots to in-stadium celebrity stunts, comedy to purpose, and much more. There were traditional TV, print, outdoor and digital ads—but also pranks, stunts and innovations that stretched the definition of advertising. Our choice for No. 1 is a good example—about as far from a typical ad as you can get, yet an undeniable brand triumph.

In all of our honorees, we saw a great idea merge with strong craft to produce something memorable, advancing a brand or cause in fresh ways. Congratulations to all the agencies and marketers below for making work that was the envy of the ad world in 2023.
