Kids Hang Out With Kobe, LeBron and Kevin Durant in Nike's Cute Basketball Film
They Find Hot Tubs, Spirulina Cake and More
Editor's Pick
Kobe Bryant, Elena Delle Donne, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Paul George, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James all take part in this five-minute basketball film from Nike that debuted on Christmas Day.
Nigerian-American Hollywood film director Rick Famuyiwa ("Dope") directed the film for Wieden & Kennedy Portland. The story starts with a bunch of kids hanging out, discussing how they can't pick their favorite NBA player.
In order to choose one, they go seek out each of the top names they mention, and spend time living with them in turn. This includes getting dunked by Kevin Durant, fishing and hanging out in the hot tub with Paul George, meditating with Kobe Bryant and eating ice cream out of trophies with Elena Delle Donne, as they take copious notes on the players' different qualities. They also find out that Kyrie Irving is always dribbling -- even while making breakfast --and eat spirulina cake with LeBron.
With cameos by the likes of Serena Williams, it's all great fun, but it's based on truths too (Bryant does meditate, George does go fishing and so forth) as Nike explains in this blog post.
The message? There are so many great players that you can't just pick one.
