Cowboys, soldiers, fairies and an ogre invade a family home in a blockbuster spot from BT
Fredrik Bond directs telecom firm's biggest ever broadband campaign from AMV BBDO
Editor's Pick
A father arrives home to find his home invaded by cowboys, fairies, the military and a giant ogre in a new spot from the U.K. telecom giant BT, its biggest ever promoting broadband.
The VFX-heavy ad, directed by Fredrik Bond via Sonny from AMV BBDO, aims to depict the chaos that ensues when every member of the family is watching/playing something different -- the son playing a Fortnite-type computer game, the wife watching a fantasy movie with fairies and an ogre, Dad wanting to watch a cowboy movie -- but it has a solution. With BT, it suggests, you can have a WiFi signal in every room, and everyone can access their own content. The tagline is "set your internet free.'
It's a well-crafted spot that will ring true for many families (although we'd take issue with this British mum watching ogres and fairies, surely she'd be more likely watching "Strictly Come Dancing" or the new series of "Catastrophe"? )
Supported with a multi-million-pound investment ,he campaign also includes out of home (OOH), digital out of home (DOOH), press, radio, digital and social.
