Chase captures life’s fleeting moments in short film with an original Jordan Davis song

A lifetime is captured in heartwarming vignettes, with an original song as a backdrop, in Chase’s newest emotional campaign. “Next Thing You Know,” created by Droga5, captures the emotional milestones—personal and financial—that people experience in life, from buying a ring to propose with, to saving up for a first child and eventually paying for that child’s college and watching them leave home. The film is scored by an original song of the same name written and performed by country singer Jordan Davis. The song was inspired by one of the co-writers of the song, who, while dropping off his daughter at kindergarten, was struck by the thought that she will soon be graduating and moving out. The lyrics reflect the fleeting nature of life, and how meaningful moments pass by so quickly. The film demonstrates how Chase is there for its customers every step of the way, from purchasing a home or a car to opening a small business or welcoming a new baby. “At Chase, we are there for all the ‘next thing you know’ moments that shape our customers’ lives, big or small,” Leanne Fremar, global chief brand officer at JPMorganChase, told Ad Age. “Our business has never been transactional, and the intent of this video is to showcase the significant role we play in helping make all those moments, throughout the journey of their life, happen.” “With this campaign, we set out to capture something simple yet profound: the beauty of life in motion, how it moves quickly and how the moments that truly shape us often arrive when we least expect them,” added Pelle Sjoenell, worldwide chief creative officer at Droga5. “We chose to tell a deeply human story to reflect that Chase is there not just for life’s major financial milestones, but for all of life’s twists, turns and beautifully unexpected moments along the way.” The campaign launches Friday across social and digital and Saturday on TV.
