A young woman battles with clones of herself in DNB's ad about careers guidance
Sometimes making a choice can involve multiple versions of yourself
Editor's Pick
DNB, the Norwegian bank, finds an interesting way to illustrate how hard it can be to choose a career in an ad promoting its career guidance website.
In the spot, directed by Joe Vanhoutteghem of Bacon for agency Try, a young woman first of thinks about being a doctor but doesn't seem quite sure. Then, she looks at her reflection in a glass window and sees another version of herself in a white medical coat. Gradually, more "clones" appear and multiply, all dressed for different careers, and start to battle each other. While it gets kind of ridiculous -- an air hostess sends people flying with her drinks cart, and chefs custard-pie each other -- it's certainly a memorable way of making the point that sometimes you might need some guidance when choosing which version of yourself will win out.
