It’s no secret that star athletes go through rigorous training, but if you’ve ever wondered whether they snack or fall victim to cravings—they do. Everyone does.
Danone is showing how star athletes snack with a campaign featuring female athletes including track and field star Sha’Carri Richardson, gymnast Jordan Chiles and soccer star Kristie Mewis.
A photo shoot campaign launched Tuesday (May 21) shows the three athletes choosing a drinkable yogurt snack when cravings kick in, including Oikos for high protein, Activia for gut health and Too Good & Co. for low sugar. The Oikos yogurt is new, and introduces a protein drink for muscle recovery.
The star-studded campaign not only celebrates women sports—which is having a moment—but normalizes snacking, which is often frowned upon (especially in women) for staying in shape.
“For those who are constantly on the go, there is a clear need for convenient and delicious snack options that you can feel good about, whether it be high protein, lower sugar, or getting in some probiotics,” said Victoria Badiola, VP of Greek and functional nutrition at Danone North America, which owns the Oikos, Too Good & Co. and Activia brands. “Everyone has their daily routines, unique in their own right, so that’s why we’re thrilled to work with Sha’Carri, Jordan and Kristie to showcase how they snack when on the go.”
