David Schwimmer is a master of really bad disguises
Ad from Britain's TSB bank via McCann London mines the awkward persona of 'Friends' star
Editor's Pick
Hot on the heels of the "Friends" reunion, David Schwimmer is still mining his somewhat nerdy comedy persona in commercials for a British bank.
He's back in a new U.K. TV spot from TSB and agency McCann London, which signed the Hollywood star back in 2020 in an effort to bring American-style humor to its "Life Made More" campaign.
In it, Schwimmer don some really bad disguises in order to illustrate the idea that TSB customers will find "savings really can sneak up on them" every time they spend on their debit card. His getups see him embedded in a pink beauty salon chair, in the middle of a sunglasses stand and within a restaurant painting. Jeff Low of Biscuit returned to direct.
According to Emma Springham, chief marketing officer of TSB, in a statement, Schwimmer “effortlessly brings the features of our 'Spend and Save' product to life through the 'savings that sneak up on you' theme. David's personality and warmth helps to further cement our brand platform ‘Life Made More.'”
“I was delighted to be invited back for the next installment," added Schwimmer. "Not only has the campaign moved on, it’s gotten funnier. Simple, memorable, and just the right amount of silly.”
