It’s only Monday but we may have our celebrity endorsement of the week, thanks to Sennheiser, the audio technology technology brand, which enlisted Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider for an entertaining product demo of sorts—set in a crowded, noisy restaurant—for the Conversation Clear Plus earbuds.
An aging rocker is perfect for the conceit here. Dee can certainly scream/sing with the best of them, to make himself heard above the din, but he’s also almost surely got a level of hearing loss that these earbuds can help him with.
Dee’s dinner buddy is awesome as well. He’s played by Steve Cooke, an actor and singer. The spot was directed by Nalle Sjöblad, known for his award-winning work for Burger King, Supercell, Mowi and Gold Bond.
“While rock stars might still have the pipes to cut through all the clamor of a noisy restaurant, they’re just like us and will struggle to follow conversations in challenging environments,” said Jeff Marois, associate creative director/writer at Terri & Sandy. “Dee and his counterpart were the perfect choices to highlight the frustration that can come from trying to carry on a normal conversation when speech intelligibility is compromised–and how Conversation Clear Plus can remedy that—all in a lighthearted, approachable dialogue that mirrors the ethos of the product.”
“Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus reflects our customers’ dynamic lives, allowing users to follow every conversation with ease, wherever they are,” said Daniel Holenstein, Sennheiser Senior Product Manager. “An independent study showed 95% of users experienced significant speech enhancement in noisy situations when using the product.”
