Now Chance the Rapper moves on to Lionel Richie's 'Hello' in new remix for Doritos
Follow-up to Super Bowl ad revisits another '80s classic
Editor's Pick
In the Doritos Super Bowl spot, we saw Chance the Rapper remix the Backstreet Boys hit "I Want It That Way" in hip-hop style. Now, he's back remixing another 80s classic--Lionel Richie's mega-hit "Hello."
In the latest ad by Goodby Silverstein & Partners #NowItsHot campaign, directed by MJZ's Steve Ayson, Richie hits the keyboard while Chance riffs about Doritos. Meanwhile dancers (choregraphed by Ryan Heffington) do backflips across the stage as the rhythm shifts from ballad to rap. In homage to the original "Hello" video, the ad ends with Richie presenting Chance with a clay sculpture of his head.
The spot broke during the “American Idol” premiere and will air on TV and digitally throughout the year.
