Ad Promotes Broadcaster's Coverage of This Weekend's 'Clasico' Game

It might be all about the Super Bowl in the U.S,, but in France, they're gearing up for the "Clasico" -- an epic annual game between Olympique de Marseille (OM) and Paris Saint Germain, this year set to be broadcast on Feb. 7.

In this spot for Canal+, which has had exclusive rights on the live broadcast for 20 years, we're introduced to an ardent OM fan who hasn't seen his home team play in 30 years -- even thought he's been present for all their games. The reason? He's a stadium security guard, who must sit with his back to the players.

Thankfully, today's multi-screen technology means that things are changing; one day, his adoring daughter brings a tablet to the match and sits by him, so he can watch all the action on screen. (We're assuming that this isn't too distracting from his actual job.) It's truly touching.

The ad is by BETC Paris, and will run online and on French TV.
