As BMW will soon debut the return of BMW Films, another car brand has delivered a celebrity-fronted big production, "Le Fantome."

Created out of WPP Ford global agency GTB, the sultry thriller was directed by RSA Films' Jake Scott and stars Mads Mikkelsen, who's set to appear in two of the year's most anticipated films: Star Wars: Rogue One and Marvel's Dr. Strange.

Mikkelsen plays an enigmatic hitman whose charge is to find, and eliminate, a couple under a witness protection program. Though the two have gone to great lengths to stay under wraps -- the woman even underwent surgery to change her face -- their car, a Ford Edge, gives them away. But ultimately, it's their saving grace too, after Mikkelsen's character seems to fall under its spell.

GTB CCO Julian Watt and ECD Bryn Attewell wrote the film, which will run on TV, cinema, digital and social. It was shot in Croatia in the same locations used for "Game of Thrones."

"Edge isn't like the usual premium SUVs," explained Mr. Watts in a statement. "It's refreshingly distinctive, and we chose a campaign approach that reflected and dramatized that."
