As mask mandates return and more businesses require employees and patrons to be vaccinated, a new clothing line from Austin agency Callen aims to make life a bit more simple for those who are already vaxxed up.
The agency has debuted “Immunity Market,” a streetwear collection that puts its wearers’ vaccination status front and center. The line consists of tees and accessories with detachable see-through pouches for displaying vaccination cards, along with ones sans the pocket.
“We noticed a trend of vaccinated people wanting to prove to others that they were vaccinated, going so far as to wear their actual cards in lanterns around their necks in NYC,” says Callen founder Craig Allen.
While vaccination status shirts aren't a new thing, “all the shirts available online are so horribly designed,” Allen says. “We thought maybe there's a way to let people know you're safe to talk to without looking like a hobo. If nothing else, it’s an excellent conversation starter in a time when young and old are trying to get back out there and remember how to socialize.”
The collection is the latest COVID-themed merch line from an agency. Mother L.A. also debuted its own pandemic-inspired line of sweats designed to benefit frontline workers in healthcare and beyond.
