The Sci-Fi Channel is giving the classic Wizard of Oz fable a futuristic makeover with its new Tin Man series, set to premiere in November. No longer a simplistic 'tap your toes and return home' affair, the new show loosely holds on to the narrative from its source material, instead evoking Lewis Carroll-like fantasy and nightmarish touches--a fact proven by its hypnotic and visually arresting microsite.

Conceived by Fallon, Minneapolis, in collaboration with interactive firm B-Reel and a slew of noted CG artists, the "Infinite Oz" destination promoting Tin Man is just that: an infinite, spiraling loop taking you through various worlds that encompass the show. A slider on a grid at the top left corner lets you manipulate the speed in which you descend through this somewhat disorienting site. From icy, mountainous terrain through spiky glaciers, cavernous abysses and teeming downtown streets, one can immediately discern we're even farther removed from Kansas than Dorothy. Visitors can also pause the rabbit hole trip completely by clicking on a scene description option, which provides storylines from each specific realm, which in turn offers various dialog from the show that seems to spring unpredictably throughout the fantastic voyage.
