Mac and PC still haven’t retired in these financial planning ads
15 years after their Apple ads wrapped up, older look-alikes star in Assante Hydrostone’s campaign
Editor's Pick
Next month will mark 15 years since the last Apple “Get a Mac” spots, featuring the Mac and PC characters, aired on TV. But the pair are still working—at least according to a new financial planning campaign from Canada.
Assante Hydrostone and agency Wunder cast John Hodgman and Justin Long lookalikes, though significantly older than we last saw them, for three spots about the importance of planning ahead. True to form, the bumbling PC hasn’t prepared at all. Mac, unsurprisingly, is ahead of him—and manages to retire by the end of the series.
The spots were directed by Charles Wahl and produced by Accomplice Content Supply Co.
