A bull remains serene through calamity and catastrophe in ad for MoneySuperMarket
Film from Engine takes the 'bull in a china shop' saying and runs with it
Editor's Pick
A new spot from U.K.price comparison website MoneySuperMarket.com takes the old saying about a "bull in a china shop," and runs with it.
The humorous TV ad by Engine is the latest in the brand's campaign that focuses on being "money calm" , voiced by actor and "IT Crowd "star Matt Berry. It starts off with the bull standing calmly in the china shop without going wild and breaking anything. We then move on to other situations that might be potentially stressful for the bull—a kids' party, an army bootcamp, cracking ice, a plunging window-cleaning platform and even a boat in what looks like "The Perfect Storm." Throughout, the bull continues to look serene. In the final scenario, an asteroid is heading towards earth, but the bull looks on unruffled.Directed by Nick Ball via Blink, the spot was actually made pre-lockdown, but put on hold at the time, and it features a real, rather than CGI, bull.
Engine took over the MoneySuperMarket account in 2019 after it parted company with Mother London, which had created the popular "Epic" campaign. “It’s been just over a year since we relaunched our brand and we know we have a powerful platform in Get Money Calm," said Lloyd Page, marketing director at MoneySuperMarket in a statement. "The campaign is about communicating the universal, wonderful feeling of calm you feel when you know your bills are under control with MoneySuperMarket. The new campaign sums up that feeling in a more powerful and distinct way than we have done before, allowing a far greater consistency in our execution."
