Netflix's 'Stranger Things' stores take your holiday shopping into a whole new dimension
The activations in New York City and Los Angeles feature exclusive merchandise and immersive sets
Editor's Pick
For residents of New York City and Los Angeles looking to spice up their holiday shopping with goodies from the Upside Down, Netflix has erected immersive “Stranger Things” shops in each city. Now through the rest of the holiday season, grab exclusive merchandise for the Eleven in your life and gear up for the show’s fourth season in summer 2022.
Following the success of previous activations for the hit show and ahead of next year’s “Stranger Things: The Experience,” the stores in New York City's Times Square and at The Americana in Glendale, Calif. offer fans the chance to buy exclusive items such as branded apparel, home decor and custom cereals (via an exclusive partnership between the shop and General Mills).

While browsing, shoppers walk through immersive sets modeled after iconic “Stranger Things” locales designed by agency Black Sky Creative. Start in Winona Ryder character Joyce Byers’ living room, where lights flicker and disembodied voices shout every twenty minutes, or head straight to the Starcourt Mall and the Scoops Ahoy stand.
Perfectly modeled with neon-patterned carpet and blacklights, the Palace Arcade room has playable arcade games and touchscreens that iinvite you to customize unique t-shirt designs.
An adjacent room is decked out as the show’s Russian Lab, where a large, interactive puzzle sets off alarms and leads players into a photo-op room with a huge Demogorgon sculpture.
Other ‘grammable spots include the Snow Ball, which resembles a high school gymnasium with streamers and hand-painted signs, and a large backdrop where visitors can ride stationary bikes in front of a spooky country road.
"Stranger Things" fans can reserve a time slot for their visit on the stores' website for free. The activations accept walk-in visitors, but doesn't guarantee entry for those without a ticket.
