Placebo : The Never-Ending Why
Psychedelia meets early 20th-century silhouette style animation in this interactive music video.

Editor's Pick
Amsterdam-based digital creative boutique Champagne Valentine takes visitors on a fanciful, creature-filled trip in this interactive music video for Placebo's "The Never-Ending Why."
The tale follows a boy and girl trying to escape "Why Monsters" in a fast-moving, multi-colored world. "We wanted to make a really stunning interactive music video filled with these amazing puppets in a fantastical world which people could play around with," says Champagne Valentine co-founder/CD Geoff Lillemon.
Visitors can use the mouse to to manipulate the movements of the monsters and change up the environment. Stylistically, the piece was "inspired by early 20th-century silhouette style animation, especially by Lotte Reniger," says Lillemon. "But we really wanted to infuse it with a Champagne Valentine kind of psychedelia."
