The NASA rocket may have yet to take off, but space is officially on trend.

Following Coke's launch of a "space-flavored" variety called Starlight earlier this year, Papa Johns now has a space-inspired campaign for its new chorizo flavor range.

Themed around "Planet Chorizo," one of the pizza names in the new range, the global campaign from Atomic London includes a spot that the brand said "takes stylistic inspiration from popular shows Euphoria and Sex Education, Gen-Z obsession with space-age fashion and make-up."

Made in collaboration with production house Sticker Studios and directed by Dan French, the ad depicts a girl watching TV and reaching for a slice of the brand's chorizo pizza, only to be sucked inside and transported to "Planet Chorizo." There she finds a planet inhabited by a number of glamorous aliens chowing down on pies.

The campaign also includes "Chorizo Style" lipstick, created by Highlight PR Bath with Chelsie Lane cosmetics to promote the new range and space-themed campaign. The lipstick is designed to resemble chorizo’s marbled texture and is "infused with an authentic chorizo-style scent."

As well as the Planet Chorizo pizza, customers will be able to order "Chorizo Orbit" with olive and onion and "Cosmic Chorizo Chicken." "Cosmic Chorizo Chicken Papadia" and "Chorizo Space Rolls" are also available as side orders.

“Our latest Chorizo campaign is another example of our global strategy to elevate premium ingredients, which has seen positive commercial impact last year when we launched Cheddar and Pulled Meats," said Jo Blundell, VP of international marketing at Papa Johns, in a statement. "We know Gen Zs love to experiment with flavor so we look forward to taking them to Planet Chorizo to explore the exciting tastes, colors and beauty of this spicy sausage.”
