To celebrate the one-year anniversary of its Soho flagship store, design-minded furnishings store BluDot teamed with Minneapolis shop Mono on a socially-driven outdoor experiment that seeks to address the question, "If good design can be anywhere, exactly where can it go?" BluDot has dropped 25-30 of its Real Good Chairs at various locations in the city, where they're free for the taking to passers by.
The Real Good Chair Twitter feed provides pickup updates for each chair, as well as clues to where and when the remaining chairs will be dropped. A Flickr feed also provides hints to where some of the chairs have been placed.
Some of the chairs are GPS-enabled, and their travels can be followed on the BluDot site. Once chairs have been claimed, a camera crew will track down and film their owners and final destinations, for a documentary that will premier at BluDot's anniversary party in December.
