Greta Thunberg appears in this battle cry for children's rights around the world
B-Reel filmed the climate activist for cameo in spot for Save the Children as its sister company produces documentary
Editor's Pick
Greta Thunberg appears (albeit briefly) in a new ad from Save the Children Sweden, thought to be the first time the climate activist has ever been filmed specifically for a spot.
Although Thunberg's face and words have been used in environmental campaigns and year-end roundups before, agency B-Reel, which filmed her specifically for the film, say it believes this is her first commercial. The agency's sister company, B-Reel Films, has worked on the documentary film "I am Greta," released with Hulu.
Thunberg appears on a phone screen as part of a somber spot designed to be a battle cry for child rights. The spot highlights some of the dangerous situations children face around the world, from hunger to conflict to grooming. It's set to poetry, a somewhat altered version of Tennyson's "In Memoriam (Ring Out Wild Bells)" and ends on a note of hope for the future. Clara Tägtström was the director.
