Creative agency Buzzman tapped John Malkovich to promote French on-demand streaming service Canal Play. The American actor adept at playing disturbing and aloof characters adopts a quirky persona here, that of a French-speaking vampire.

We meet the immortal in an office at the bank where he presumably works. There, he streams an episode of "24" on his laptop, unperturbed by a cops and robbers shootout taking place in his workplace. Instead, he discusses his favorite pastime -- feeding his film and television obsession through a Canal Play subscription.

Director Bart Timmer shoots Malkovich waltzing through typically deadly situations numerous times throughout the 90-second French spot. Translated, the dialog is similar to that of other streaming services' ads -- with Malkovich discussing en francais how great it is he can watch endless shows, anywhere and everywhere--especially since he has so much time on his hands. Set to reach French televisions this Sunday evening during Canal Football Club, the TV version will be supported by 35-second and 15-second digital versions that will run over the course of the next month.
