Skoda's is promoting its "Skoda Key" tool, which remembers all your personal settings and adjustments when you get into your car, with a humorous new spot by French agency Rosaspark.
To demonstrate the pitfalls of lending your car to other drivers, the spot depicts what starts off as a Hollywood movie-like police chase scenario, as two cops, Will and Chuck, exit a donut shop (where else?) and jump into their car to pursue some suspects in an adrenalin-fueled rush of excitement.
However, the chase never gets off the ground, as one of the cops struggles in vain to adjust the windows, the seat lever and the rearview mirrors. As his colleague dejectedly bites into his donut, the spot ends with the product message about the Skoda Key, which stores your driver settings.
The film, which was directed by Jean-Baptiste Saurel via Big, is running on French social media promoted by the hashtag #WillEtChuck. Rosapark also worked with Google to create a tool on Google Street View that allows online users to chase the blue van in the ad, for the chance to win a trip to Los Angeles.
