Idris Elba Reminds Grown-Ups Their Dreams Can Still Come True

Campaign for U.K. Beverage Brand Purdey's Encourages People to Fulfil Their Potential

Idris Elba may be touted as a future James Bond, but he plays more of a fairy godmother in this campaign for U.K. beverage brand Purdey's.

The "Luther" and "Bastille Day" actor appears in a series of short black-and-white films for the Britvic-owned multivitamin fruit drink in which he meets ordinary people and asks them what they want to when they "grow up." He then chooses to make some of their dreams come true -- for example, as seen here, for a woman who's always dreamed of becoming an amateur football coach.

The campaign, by Iris Worldwide, is a relaunch effort for the brand centered aroudn the idea of fulfiling your personal potential, with the tagline "Thrive On." It will be supported by an interactive competition across social media giving people an opportunity to win a grant from Purdey's, that could help make their own dreams come true.

It's not the first time Elba has acted as a motivator for ordinary people on behalf of a brand; in 2014 he appeared in a Samsung content campaign titled "Launching People" that aimed to unearth new talent.
