The sprawling, varied landscape is as much a character as the professors and students who share their stories in a new campaign for the University of Arizona.

Created by 160over90, “Wonder Makes Us” features tales of overcoming obstacles and finding one’s path in unexpected places. After an accident in his mid-twenties, Phil Evans lost the use of his legs, and only the efforts of good friends who started playing wheelchair basketball pulled him out of a downward spiral. Now he is an international student at the university, with plans to work in the sport after he graduates.

Marcia Rieke, an astronomer for NASA, investigates the stars and the early life of the universe, and teaches her students to do the same. And Iraqi/Palestinian-American photographer Sama Alshaibi uses art to make political statements.

An anthem spot (top) blends all three stories. The integrated campaign is running through April 2020 in TV, digital social and out-of-home placements, including wallscapes, transit wraps and metro station takeovers.
