Microsoft Xbox has debuted its first campaign for "Halo Infinite," the newest installment in the Halo shooter game, with an atmospheric new film that invites viewers to step inside the armor of the franchise's storied protagonist Master Chief.
The cinematic spot, created by 215 McCann, was directed by Smuggler's Patrick Clair and Raoul Marks, who have received Emmy nominations for the title sequences for the likes of "Westworld," "The Crown," and "True Detective." It signals the triumphant return of the Master Chief character to the game. In the new film, we witness his famous suit mysteriously being assembled in the depths of space. Cortana, Master Chief’s trusted AI partner, describes how the MJOLNIR, his powered assault armor system, is meaningless until the right hero steps inside.
The film ends by inviting the viewer to "step inside." It served as the opening to Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase event, which took place on July 23. It's supported by paid media, on social and digital channels and will be the first in a wider campaign promoting the game, titled "Become."
