Aaron Griffiths will join the New York office of Havas' Arnold later this month as co-chief creative officer, partnering with current chief creative officer John Staffen to lead the shop's creative team.
Mr. Griffiths most recently served as a creative director in the New York office of Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day. Before that , he spent time at WPP Group's Ogilvy and OgilvyOne -- where he was a worldwide creative director for IBM -- and at Omnicom's Goodby Silverstein & Partners on Saturn and Hewlett-Packard.
His hire stems from a need for more creative leadership at ArnoldNYC, which has doubled in size since 2010 to nearly 200 staffers, said Andrew Benett, global CEO of Arnold Worldwide and global chief strategy officer of Havas Worldwide. Boston-based Arnold claims its New York outpost -- once just a small hub -- has grown over 40% in revenue. The office continues to add new accounts too, as does the Arnold network, which has been extremely active on the new-business front. In the past month, it emerged the winner in pitches for American Eagle Outfitters and Kohler.
While Messrs. Griffiths and Staffen will lead the creative team together, Mr. Staffen will continue to partner with ArnoldNYC President Lynn Power to manage the New York office. "I'm really excited to partner with Aaron and to welcome him to our creative team," said Mr. Staffen in a statement. "This is a big, next step for us as a growing agency. It's a reflection of our commitment to deliver great work to our clients and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Said Mr. Griffiths: "To partner with John and work with Arnold 's amazing roster of clients is a great opportunity for me. It's been incredible to watch the momentum that the Arnold team has achieved in the last few years, and now I have the chance to contribute to it."
