Apple iPhone 16 Pro: Smuggler director Aiofe McArdle’s new 60-second spot for the iPhone 16 Pro focuses on the cinematic slow motion feature of the device’s camera through surreal snippets of Hollywood-style content. Bella: The kitchenware brand introduces a new line of space-saving appliances and cookware with a charming, whimsical 30-second spot starring Demi Lovato. Chesapeake Bank: You don’t see many ads shot on film these days, certainly not regional bank ads. But that approach lends a charm and approachability to a new Chesapeake Bank campaign (below) from agency Familiar Creatures. Featuring real Chesapeake employees, the ad was directed by Zach Tavel at Easy Pete’s. Clash Royale: Halloween season continues with a nicely made horror short from David New York and director Kelsey Taylor for Supercell’s Clash Royale mobile game. The concept is that dying in the game means you die for real, too. Heinz: Kraft Heinz apologized on Monday for a ketchup campaign that critics said contained imagery that had echoes of blackface and minstrel shows. NHL: Our Jon Springer has a story today about how the pro hockey league is marketing its Gen Z superstars. Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA): The U.S. trade association representing the plant-based industry launched a campaign from AKQA Bloom in partnership with leading brands such as NotCo, Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat. The campaign, including this punchy video, highlights the positive and unexpected changes plant-based foods can bring to people’s lives. Save the Children: A moving campaign from agency Anónimo aims to raise awareness about the alarming violence faced by women in Mexico, particularly girls. The short film (below), directed by Laura Baumeister, encourages viewers to reflect on the normalization of gender-based violence in Mexican society. Snyder’s of Hanover: The pretzel brand is out with a Halloween campaign from Leo Burnett that introduces “Pretzelface,” a misunderstood Halloween figure—apparently inspired by Leatherface—who “reverse trick-or-treats” by delivering pretzels to homes. The campaign includes online video and connected TV, including a Huluween sponsorship.
