Warner Bros. Discovery ad chief Jon Steinlauf to exit

Warner Bros. Discovery Chief U.S. Advertising Sales Officer Jon Steinlauf will exit the company later this year, according to an internal memo written by WBD Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer Bruce Campbell. Steinlauf will continue working in the role as the company searches for a successor, according to the memo. After holding ad sales positions at ESPN and the now-defunct Sports News Network earlier in his career, Steinlauf spent eight years at Turner, leading sales for TBS and TNT. He later rose through the ranks at Scripps, culminating as the president of ad sales and marketing before the company was acquired by Discovery in 2018. He became chief U.S. advertising sales officer at Discovery after the acquisition and maintained the title as Discovery merged with Warner Media to form Warner Bros. Discovery in 2022. Steinlauf oversaw the integration of Discovery and Warner Media’s ad businesses and led the launch of advertising on WBD’s streaming platform, Max. He also integrated the company’s sales teams across verticals to create the One WBD sales model.
