"Stranger Things" is the source of one of the latest viral audios on TikTok. The audio comes from the second season of the show, when Hopper gets into an argument with Eleven and tells her, “You've got to understand that there are consequences to your actions."
The tense scene has become a TikTok trend that puts text over Hopper’s “consequences” line, applying it to situations such as spending one's whole paycheck or avoiding taking a bath. The Denver Zoo got in on the trend, spotlighting Elbert the mountain goat. The TikTok reads, “Elbert you can’t just flip your food bowl immediately after the keepers fill it up.” The video cuts to the goat doing just that and has reached 1.3 million views as of writing.
Discord, which has gained popularity among marketers, recently shared that the platform’s voice chat feature is now available on Xbox consoles. Xbox users will now be able to talk to their friends on Discord, making it easier to connect and play across platforms. Discord’s TikTok announcing the new feature used an “animated” Wumpus (the Discord mascot), poor spelling and what looks like Microsoft Paint. The simple TikTok netted 2.5 million views as of writing.
BeReal is quickly becoming the social media app to have—with no videos, ads or filters. That last part seems to resonate with the app’s TikTok followers. A recent TikTok featured the face of the brand’s profile—employee David Aliagas—and text that simply reads, “The fact that BeReal is slowly changing people’s toxic perceptions of themselves slowly created over the last year with face filters making everyone feel secure about posting unedited pictures of themselves again.” The video has 5.5 million views, though the identity of the face of the profile is unknown.
Announcing brand updates on TikTok is a quick way to get the word out and rack up views. Clash of Clans, which recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, saw this firsthand when the mobile game posted a TikTok about a game upgrade that makes raising an army in the game free. Previously, players needed gold or elixirs to upgrade. The video, featuring plush elixirs and set to Pitbull’s “Timber,” has reached nearly 30 million views.
With 2 million TikTok followers, Taco Bell manages to hit tens of millions of views on its videos. The latest focuses on the chain’s new $5 breakfast box. An employee consistently comes in late to work, always holding a Breakfast Box and an iced coffee. When she’s called out for being late, she slides over a box, and her tardiness is forgiven. The simple TikTok has gotten almost 83 million views.
