An Emotional Father-Son Moment has a Sobering Twist in British Heart Foundation Spot
Park Pictures' Tom Tagholm Directs an Unsettling PSA
Editor's Pick
In this sad, sobering spot for the British Heart Foundation, a young boy is in school when his father suddenly appears at his desk and starts to speak to him. As he tells him that he's leaving and not coming back, it becomes more and more unsettling, and while you might start to guess what's going to happen as the conversation progresses, the ending is nevertheless chillingly effective.
Park Pictures' Tom Tagholm (Meet the Superhumans, The Loneliest Whale) directed the one minute spot for creative agency DLKW Lowe. It forms part of a wider campaign with a series of shorter online films, produced by the agency's in-house production team, highlighting that, as in the main spot's tagline, heart disease strikes without warning. In one, a conversation on Skype ends in tragedy, while in another, a heart attack strikes while a dog's owner is filming its tricks. There's also a mobile app that purports to be a "heart attack simulator" but instead plays a chilling recorded message when the user holds their phone to their chest.
