One of Quintana’s more recent successes was leading the pitch process that resulted in UM winning the General Mills global media account. Quintana was named to the chief client role in May as part of a reorganization of UM’s leadership.
Quintana, who has been with the agency for more than 15 years, also previously served as executive VP, global client lead, a role in which she led some of UM’s biggest accounts, including Johnson & Johnson and American Express.
DeMiero joined UM in January 2022 after his tenure as CEO of Publicis Groupe’s Hawkeye. UM called his departure a leave of absence but also confirmed that Quintana's appointment is permanent moving forward. DeMiero wasn’t immediately available for comment.
Quintana’s appointment follows a report earlier this week by Digiday that the IPG agency, among others, recently underwent several rounds of layoffs.
UM declined to comment on the report of layoffs.
