9:15 a.m. I'm up, thanks to my cheerful alarm. But, I am wildly hungover, thanks to two great parties that took place last night: the AOL/Ad Age party celebrating the Ad Age cover work, and the Grey party. Rushing around to get ready to meet Garret Dafferner, my partner on the Ad Age cover, so we can go to the Palais!

10:59 a.m. Just had the most amazing breakfast of crepes with Jonah Levine, a senior art director at Digitas. When you're here, be sure to get a crepe made with Sarrasin -- it's a special flour made for savory crepes and traditionally comes from the Bretagne region. Now, I'm off to see some shortlisted work!

11:15 a.m. Ran into a CD from Grey Paris while on my way to the Saatchi new director's showcase. Ended up standing in line for 45 minutes to get in, but these dudes who were wandering the halls made for good entertainment. I still have no idea what they're doing, but the best my line mates, and all I came up with was Secret Agents sent to Cannes to infiltrate the ad industry and spread a new phenomenon: burlap sacks for fashion. Watch for it next year on all the catwalks ;)

12 p.m. Sitting inside the new director's showcase. Every time I walk into the Debussy theater I'm amazed at how BIG this theater is. There was some great work shown here, but I think my favorite was by director Gal Shkedi. He combined Tom Waits' song 'Starving in the Belly of a Whale' with some simply brilliant animation.

1:35 p.m. Wandered around the Palais for a while, scoped out some short-listed work and radio winners. Fell hard for the Toyota Genuine Parts radio campaign. Check it out and be jealous.

2 p.m. Got a smoothie from the YouTube people in the Young Lions area and sucked it down while listening to Mister Goodby. He and his ponytail have good advice: have a life outside of advertising.

3:30 p.m. Met up with Garret and Jonah for lunch on the beach. Crusty French sandwiches = major noms.

6:30 p.m. Garret and I wandered back to the Palais for the Uniqlo creativity seminar.

7:30 p.m. Headed back to the beach to meet up with some Grey creatives from London. These people in the photo aren't the creatives, but they were just as goofy.

8 p.m. Met up with Jonah and scarfed down some macarons. I wish I would've taken a picture, but they were so good they were devoured too fast.

9:15 p.m. Getting ready to meet up with some Cannes natives, we'll see where the night takes us. Hopefully it goes something like the above.
