Dunkin’s Ben Affleck-Charli D’Amelio ad adds to Super Bowl speculation

Dunkin’ and Ben Affleck seem poised to return to the Super Bowl, possibly with Charli D’Amelio. The actor and TikTok star—both Dunkin’ devotees—appeared in a Dunkin’ ad that ran during tonight’s Grammys broadcast on CBS. The commercial shows Affleck in a recording studio. He watches a news report about him being the “boredest man” — a reference to him looking unimpressed at the 2023 Grammys. “I can do that. How hard can it be?” Affleck says of being a singer. He starts making some calls to a producer and a stylist, and later visits D’Amelio, who tries to show him some dance moves, before Affleck asks clumsily, “who is TikTok?” The spot ends with the text "to be continued,” a possible reference to the plot continuing Super Bowl Sunday. Affleck was spotted last month with a stack of Dunkin’ boxes and coffees, seemingly recreating a viral 2020 moment when he dropped several coffees and a box of Munchkins while trying to pick up a package, thus sparking rumors of a Super Bowl ad. Page Six reported that D’Amelio was on set with him. Dunkin’ declined to reveal any Super Bowl plans. D’Amelio and Affleck are both known Dunkin’ fans who have previously worked with the chain. D’Amelio even had a drink named after her, “The Charli,” in 2020 as part of a marketing partnership. His wife Jennifer Lopez made a cameo in that ad, pulling up to the window and asking if this is what he does when he says he’s at work. Affleck ends his shift, but not before Lopez tells him to “grab me a glazed.” In the ad that debuted during the Grammys, Affleck wears a shirt that reads “grab me a glazed” while standing in front of art featuring a take on his meme-famous Dunkin’ carrying moment. Artists Equity, the studio Affleck runs with Matt Damon, was involved in the 2023 Dunkin’ Super Bowl ad.
