Many people plan their vacations based on locations they’ve seen in films and TV shows.
Using this insight, agency Pablo and director Tom Hooper created an entertaining four-minute tourism film for Great Britain that features famous scenes shot there—with new footage inserted of tourists largely oblivious to the action because they’re entranced by the attractions they’re visiting.
The film includes footage from “Mission: Impossible—Fallout,” “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason,” “Notting Hill,” “Bridgerton,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” “Succession,” “House of the Dragon,” “Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban,” “Paddington,” “Mary Poppins Returns” and more. To create the spot, VisitBritain partnered with Disney, Netflix, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, StudioCanal, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. Discovery.
The results are outstanding, and the larger campaign includes a digital map linking to film-inspired locations, attractions and experiences across the nation.

“Many of the moments that took your breath away in the cinema were filmed in the United Kingdom,” said Tourism Minister Sir Chris Bryant. “Stunning scenery, amazing cityscapes and great cinematic talent have combined over the years in a truly exceptional way. We want visitors from home and abroad to experience them first-hand by immersing themselves in the scenery and locations made famous thanks to film and TV.”
“Films, TV and tourism have a lot in common. They bring people together and they can transport us to new places, experiences and adventures,” added VisitBritain CEO Patricia Yates. “‘Starring GREAT Britain’ inspires visitors to put themselves in the picture, discover more and book a trip to Britain right now.”
