Jude Law Rampages Around London in a Stunt for Lexus
Actor Was Being Directed by an Audience Watching a Live Stream

Londoners were surprised earlier this week to see actor Jude Law behaving rather outrageously across Soho -- defacing a painting of himself in an art gallery, gatecrashing a performance at Ronnie Scott's jazz club and interrupting diners at restaurant Zima by pulling a tablecloth from a set table. What they didn't necessarily know was that Law was being given orders on what to do next, by viewers in a live stunt coordinated by Lexus.
The improvised live-streamed "performance" started in a cabaret club, The Box. Law went on stage and guests, including director Tom Hopper and singer Laura Mvula, were told that for the next 45 minutes they and remote viewers around the world would be able to give him instructions.
He then went around London collecting a cast of artists -- spoken word poet Sabrina Mahfouz, composer James Gardiner-Bateman and street artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada -- before returning to the club to give a live performance with them. On the way, viewers directed him on what to do next. The live stream was hosted by British filmmaker, comedian and writer, Danny Wallace.
The stunt was part of Lexus's "The Life RX" campaign for the Lexus RX, starring Law, that has included a TV ad by CHI & Partners in which a valet steals his car keys and has a wild adventure. It was engineered by PR agency Freud Communications.
Law said in a statement: "You don't often get the opportunity to be part of something that allows you to be spontaneous and create a story from scratch. It's how we've tried to do everything in this partnership, creating genuinely innovative experiences that people want to be a part of."
