Americans aren't driving so much at the moment, but Nissan USA's latest ad shows that their cars can be used for something during the lockdown period—a socially distanced celebration.
The spot, by TBWA/Chiat/Day, mixes existing smartphone footage of people wishing each other happy birthday from behind the wheel, or participating other celebratory family events such as a drive-by wedding or new baby and grandparents meet and greet. It's set to the new Randy Newman quarantine-themed track, "Stay Away," which the singer-songwriter debuted back in April and performed last week on the The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The spot is running on Nissan's social channels.
