The Dodge Brothers' Challenger Doesn't Impress Everyone
W&K Airs New Spots Featuring John and Horace Dodge
Editor's Pick
Dodge continues its campaign romanticizing founders John and Horace Dodge with several new spots by Wieden & Kennedy Portland, including this one promoting the Dodge Challenger. Set in what looks like Depression-era farmland, a farmer looks on suspiciously as a red Challenger roars up at the farm and his two daughters run excitedly to greet it. As the girls drives off with the two Dodge brothers, we read the words: "Every man's favorite car...until it comes for his daughters."
Another TV spot likens Dodge's range of different cars, including SUVs, compacts and crossovers, to a wolf pack while an online spot features the typical grandpa fable about walking five miles to school uphill both ways, and compares it with the Dodge Brothers' strong, get-it-done mentality.
Epoch's Martin de Thurah directed the spots, which air from Sunday, including during the Golden Globe Awards Show on NBC.
