Burger King stages a silly debate to debut its latest offering, the Sourdough King
Ad from MullenLowe Boston raises philosophical food question
Editor's Pick
Today, Burger King has debuted its latest offering, the Sourdough King--which, depending on how you define your food, is a hamburger, or a sandwich.
The Sourdough King consists of two patties, bacon and cheese between two pieces of sourdough bread. The latter's round shape suggest they make up a hamburger bun, but, their toasted flat sides suggest they are, well just toast. Such forms the basis of a ridiculous debate the Burger King has staged in this film promoting the new menu item, in which consumers are asked to determine whether the offering is a burger or sandwich. Or course, all of this is the perfect setup for Burger King to encourage viewers to "decide for yourself" and try the new burgwich today.
