Uncommon, the London creative studio founded by ex-Grey London chairman Nils Leonard together with former colleagues Lucy Jameson and Natalie Graeme, has unveiled its first work, a powerful integrated campaign about climate change for energy company Ovo.
The campaign includes an ad directed in cinematic fashion by Andreas Nilsson via Biscuit, while print ads will include illustrations by Edel Rodriguez, including one depicting Donald Trump standing in front of the sun and appearing to burn up.
In the TV ad, we see hundreds of household appliances, including fans, radios microwaves ovens and lamps, apparently plugged into the ground on a beach, as TV sets broadcast speeches of politicians denying climate change and news reports of the U.S. pulling out of the Paris climate agreement.
As the music track ("Raining Blood" by Slayer) builds, we hear another piece of audio -- the "Get mad" speech from 1976 film "Network." The spot ends with the line: 'It's time to power your life differently. Switch to 100% renewable energy from Ovo.'
