Meet Thom, a posh dandy who’s the first-ever spokesperson for Thomas’ breakfasts

The Geico gecko. Flo from Progressive. The Burger King. And now … Thom. Breakfast foods brand Thomas’ is introducing the brand's first character in its 144-year history. The new face comes as part of a new campaign, “Huzzah! A Toast to Breakfast,” from DDB Chicago. Thom is a proper young man with a strong British accent who lives in the pantry and encourages families to take time at breakfast to savor Thomas’ bread, bagels and English muffins. In one spot (above), Thom informs a family that neither he nor English muffins are actually from England—both are from the pantry. In a second spot below, a family enjoys taking a moment at breakfast, and debates how to say “Thom.” “In today’s world of busy mornings and running out the door, we knew we needed an extension of our brand voice to fight for breakfast and our belief that mornings should be savored, not rushed,” said Eduardo Zarate, senior director of marketing for Thomas’. “Through his witty and hilarious charm, Thom perfectly captures the energy we hope to bring to every family as they enjoy breakfast together and inspires us all to slow down, savor every moment and make mornings more mindful.” The ads will run on digital ads, social media and national linear TV.
