'Sizzl' Aims to Help People Find 'Bacon Soulmates'

Need some more bacon in your love life? Oscar Mayer has an app for that called "Sizzl" that the brand is touting as a "first-ever, totally real" dating app for bacon lovers.
The app is available for free on iTunes and is meant to "help Americans find their bacon soulmates," according to the Kraft Heinz-owned brand.
"Sizzl allows people to specify their bacon preferences in a customizable profile, upload photos and start checking out profiles of local fellow bacon lovers, with the ability to message and meet up with other Sizzl users based on a mutual-matching system," according to a statement, which says the app gives "new meaning to the term bacon-wrapped dates."
The app will be supported with paid digital ads. But like previous Oscar Mayer stunts -- including touting bacon as luxurious Father's Day gifts and a smartphone alarm that wakes you with the smells of bacon -- Sizzl seems aimed at winning the brand plenty of earned media.
The agencies on the campaign are 360i for digital, Olsonfor PR and Starcom for paid media.
