PayPal and Aardman Fundraise for the Holidays With an Animated CGI Turkey Race

PayPal launched a holiday charity drive in the U.K. last week that culminated in a fun TV spot in which CGI turkeys ran a "Turkey Dash" race, powered by donations.

The payment service and agency CP&B London linked with animation studio Aardman to create the CGI turkeys, and earlier in the week ran trailers featuring the eight birds, each representing a different U.K. charity. People were encouraged to make their donations online and on Friday night the final race, seen here, was broadcast during Channel 4 Jamie Oliver cooking show "Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast." The one that received the most number of donations won the race, and Aardman was working on the final animation right up until the race day.

Alison Sagar, CMO and head of consumer at PayPal U.K., explains: "With Turkey Dash, we wanted to show the power of online payments to do good. Last Christmas, more than a million people in the UK made a donation to their favourite cause with PayPal. This year, we want to encourage even more donations."
